Discovering the Pokemon TCG Pocket: A Guide to Deck Building
The Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket is an innovative mobile app that transforms the classic Pokémon TCG into a digital platform. Players can open digital booster packs, collect cards, build decks, and challenge other Trainers—all from their mobile devices. While collecting cards is a significant part of the game, the vs mode allows players to actively utilize their collections in battles, making deck building an essential aspect of gameplay.
Getting Started with Deck Building
If you’re new to Pokemon TCG Pocket, creating your first deck might feel daunting. However, the deck building process is designed to be user-friendly, even for beginners. To start, you must progress far enough in the game to unlock Step-Up-Battles, which is the first mode where you can use your constructed decks. This involves gaining some experience points (XP) as you navigate through the initial tutorials.
Accessing Your Collection
Once you’ve met the requirements, you’ll need to access your Collection page. Here, you can view your existing decks and make new ones. Simply click on the Decks button located at the top of the page. This will redirect you to a screen displaying your current decks and the option to create new ones. Click the big + button to start crafting your new deck.
Using the Auto-Build Feature
For those who may feel overwhelmed or are unfamiliar with deck construction, the auto-build feature is a fantastic tool. At the top of the deck building page, you’ll find an Auto-build button. Upon clicking it, you can select up to two different Energy Types, which will determine the Pokémon included in your deck. After confirming your choices, the auto-build tool will generate a deck using the best available cards from your collection.
Crafting Your Perfect Deck
Players can also gather Pack Points to craft specific cards, allowing for further customization of their decks. For those who prefer a hands-on approach, you can select each card individually to create a strategy that suits your style. Keep in mind that a deck consists of only 20 cards, and you can include no more than 2 copies of the same card in any deck.
