Mastering Pack Points in Pokémon TCG Pocket

In Pokémon TCG Pocket, Pack Points serve as a vital card-crafting currency. You earn these points by actively engaging with the game’s card-acquisition features. Use your Pack Points in an exclusive shop to purchase any non-promotional card, including ultra-rare ones like the Crown Rarity Pokémon.

Understanding Energy Mechanics

Understanding energy mechanics is crucial for winning battles in Pokémon TCG Pocket. Check out our comprehensive guide on “How to Change Energy” to master this essential aspect of gameplay.

How to Earn Pack Points

The only way to earn Pack Points is by opening booster packs. Each time you open a non-promotional pack, you receive five Pack Points. This reward applies regardless of whether you open packs using free Stamina, Hourglasses, or microtransaction currencies like Poke Gold. Note, however, that promotional packs do not award any Pack Points.

How to Spend Pack Points

To spend your Pack Points, follow these simple steps:

  1. Open the ‘Booster Pack’ menu.
  2. Tap the blue sphere in the bottom-right corner of the packs.
  3. This will direct you to the Pack Point Exchange Shop.
  4. Select your desired card and set the quantity.
  5. Tap “Exchange” to craft the card.

There are no restrictions on the number of cards you can exchange. You may choose to spend all your points on a single card or distribute them among various Pokémon, depending on your strategy.

Pack Point Cap and Availability

In Pokémon TCG Pocket, Pack Points are linked to specific expansions and booster packs. You can earn and spend these points as long as the corresponding packs remain available. Once an expansion is retired, its associated Pack Points will be removed from your account. It’s crucial to spend all your points before any booster pack lineup expires to avoid losing your accumulated rewards. The current Pack Point cap is 2,500. Any packs opened after reaching this limit will not grant additional Pack Points.

Best Cards to Craft with Pack Points

To maximize the use of your Pack Points, focus on crafting cards that enhance your specific decks. For instance, if you’re building a Mewtwo ex Deck, open Mewtwo packs to gather key cards and use Pack Points to fill in any gaps in your collection. Consider crafting essential cards like Giovanni, Sabrina, or Misty, as these META Supporters can significantly bolster your performance in PvP battles.

If your Supporter lineup is complete, invest Pack Points in ex Pokémon for more META options. Cards like Moltres ex are versatile, enabling you to create multiple strong PvP lineups. Additionally, consider saving rare cards for future trades, especially with Pocket’s trading feature coming soon, which will help you complete your Pokédex more efficiently.
